    So I was orderring a hardrive to my acer aspire one laptop but I noticed that
    the hard drive I had orderred had it's specifications updated
    It was called Zif "zero insertion force " two days ago and now it's Lif "low insertion foce"

    As I understood was that the interface is the same with the pinouts and all, but only the
    name and the connector was changed right?

    and the LIF is Compatible with the 40pin FPC cables used with the older zif connectiors.
    so basicaly it's the same connector and pinout just different locking mechanism?`

    can anyone verify this?

    It's the same.

    ZIF = Zero insertion force
    LIF = Low insertion force

    Toshiba just want's to have something "their own".

    Dejá vu? Muropaketti?
