AAO's LCD only displays backlight (white screen)

    The LCD is flawless so I don't understand why it won't display the desktop. I have another 8.9" Acer Aspire One and curiously I switched the LCDs to see if it was a problem with the AAO or the LCD and it worked, while I put the previous LCD in my other AAO and it remained with a white screen.

    normally I'd just get another LCD but I associate LCD replacements with broken/cracked screens but mine isn't damaged in any way. Would it be possible to buy a cracked/broken LCD and replace either the screen or the board with mine? I'm guessing no because I don't know whats actually wrong with mine. I'm hoping someone on here can help me.
