One of our two AAOs shuts down shortly after booting. Since I don't hear the fan on it, I can only suspect that the fan has died and that the AAO shuts down as soon as it begins to overheat. Is that a reasonable possibility? I have already returned it to Micro Center and gotten a refund.

Our other AAO has the disappearing Wifi problem. I have downgraded its BIOS to 3109 in the hope that that will fix it. Let us pray!

It doesn't shut down because of overheat, but simply because it detects no fan. You can put it in a fridge and it will still turn off. Not that it makes any difference. It's probably a loose connector or a broken fan.

    Thanks :)

Is there a way to test the fan is working ? What can I do to be sure ?

    I will call Acer support.
