BTW regarding this ease of accesibility to AAO hardware, What's my 'upgrading options' shall I take into my account in near future? (Wi-Fi, 3G, RAM etc)

    Thanks for input.

Has the second mini PCI express connector accessible from the bottom, but of coarse they didn't install the Sim Reader so you can not just add a 3G card.

jerryt - I put the wifi card in the inside slot and it wasn't seen by the computer. I assume it needs a power jumper installed same as on the 8.9 AAO.

By "inside" you mean the one under the keyboard of D150?

So then the wifi card comes installed in the bottom mPCIe slot?

Mini PCI express cards run on two different types of busses. PCI and USB.

Also the card can be disabled in software by pin 20 which would require taping pin 20 or determining how Acer intended to enable the card. On the A110 and A150 you have to modify the WiFi switch so that it can move the switch left and enable the 3G card.

Examples of the different cards by buss type
    PCI
    WiFi
    Broadcomm video decoder

    USB
    WiMax
    3G / HSDPA
    TV Tuner

Some cards require both busses, like the Intel 5350 WiFi / WiMax card.
