I saw that website last night and the first thing that struck me was that they had more preorders than actual promised AAO's. To me, the 10/10 date was when they would get their next shipment and would be able to fill their next set of orders.

Now thinking about it more, that might be more reality than anything else.

In a way you guys are lucky to even be able to order them at all..

over here in the UK, there is no sign or information regarding the 6 cell 160gb XP version. Not even the Acer people know themselves!

Acer UK's website is a joke (it doesn't even render properly), and it appears to just be a holding page which refers visitors, badly, to "local" dealers who aren't that local. I think you're better off scouring the net for info.

One solution might be to get the current model from Amazon. Use it until the 6 cell is out, then "discover" that it must be faulty because you're getting less than the 3 hour battery life they're quoting on their website (I've not seen a single reviewer who's getting that much life out of it) under the UK's Sale Of Goods Act 1979, get a refund then get the 6 cell one.

I decided not to wait for the 6 cell because I think it's going to cost £300+ which is more than I can justify.

Worse, neither the black nor the brown color has an ETA.
