I keep reading articles about people hacking or wanting WiMax, 3G in their netbooks, so I've decided to do what many are doing - tethering my WM6 phone to the AA1 via bluetooth.

What are your thoughts/experiences on doing this with ATT 3G or the like?

Also any other thoughts on set up, operation, performance, etc. would be helpful.

easy as pie on Sprint. I use USB Modem and do it all the time :) Of course if you have the Tilt you can change it to a wifi hot spot using WMWIFI router. There is also a free program out as well although I dont remember what it is called.

Do you use a palm? Also do you pay for pam? I'm debating doing tethering with my aoa150. Also, I take it you're using windows?

If youre on WM6, whatever AAO os you use, you can use WMWifiRouter
Look on XDA-Developers.com forums and youll probably find the pre commercial version
Its made by the person with username "Chainfire"
    What WM6 device you got?

No I use a HTC Touch WM6.1 Device. I do not pay for PAM. Oh and I am using windows but i believe USBModem has some linux drivers available. Also WMWIFIrouter is also a good solution if your WM6 device has wifi. Keep in mind that will run down the battery faster though, whereas actual tethering will generally charge the battery :)

I am using a Tilt which isn't good on battery life as it is.

You think wifi would drain battery faster than BT?
