I live in Denmark and the 751 is marketed as if it comes with a 1.6Ghz processor, it's even on Acer's homepage (under netbooks, 751):

    http://www.acer.dk/acer/product.do?link ... xHistory=0

Is this real, I mean it's still the Atom Z520 processor so I don't understand how that's possible unless they just overclocked it?

Also I see some people having issues with their netbook freezing, is that a general problem for the 751?

    Thanks in advance.

I think its a typo, since according to Intel the Z520 isn't available currently in higher speeds than 1.33 Ghz.

That's what I thought originaly, but it says 1.6Ghz on acer's homepage plus all the stores selling those versions (751h-52Bk, 751h-52Bw, 751h-52BGw) claims it has 1.6GHZ, if that's not true then that's just a lawsuit waiting to happen...

I've just looked at the stores selling these, and it seems half of them list 1.33Ghz and half 1.6Ghz so you are probably right, acer's danish department must have made a mistake.

I was just in a big "hifi" chain yesterday which had the 751 on display, even there the description said 1.6Ghz

Anyways, I was just confused and probably hoped it would be true more than anything, since that would be pretty cool...

I just re-purchased my 751h from Costco in the U.S. and noticed on their cardboard "tickets" for the netbook, it lists the processor as 1.2 GHz with Intel GMA 950 graphics. My first 751h from Costco was underclocked to 1.24GHz and this new one (with a shipped date of 7/11/2009 on the box) is clocked at 1.33GHz. Neither had the GMA 950, but I've seen this commonly listed by mistake at other U.S. Retailers (J&R Music for example). Walmart even stopped selling them initially purportedly for box label mistakes. Seems Acer has a widespread issue with mis-labeling with this netbook. BTW, I am on BIOS 3204 and the latest is 3206. I had updated my first 751h to 3206, so maybe the latest BIOS underclocks; don't know for sure.

I've bought one from Costco, and from the very beginning, my 751h always showed 1.24GHz on the computer property page, so it appears that all BIOS versions are under-clocking the CPU.

my one runs at 1.33ghz fine, all the newer ones do
the chipset is the gma500, or officially, the US15. It has substitued 3d graphics (although weak ones are included) for video acceleration.

Wow I must say I finally got mine after a long arse wait and it's great!

Came clocked at 1.33gHz and I managed to get it up to 1.5gHz! Quite happy with that as everything is running really smoothly for a netbook. The Screen is CRISP compared to the old 9" acer that I had. Loving the keyboard so far. Only complaint is the weight distribution. I feel like it'll topple over when on my lap but apart from that I'm very pleased with my purchase.
