I have installed the Ubuntu derivate #Crunchbang Linux on my AAO 110 SSD.
An easy way to use 3G on the AAO is to connect it to your mobile phone, if the phone has a wifi card.
To be able to do this you have to install a little app on the phone. The app I use is called JoikuSpot. This is not freeware, but the price is rather low and you get a trial period to try it out before buying. As far as I know there are also freeware apps that provides the same function.

The app turns the phone into an access point which you easily can connect to from the computer's wifi card. Then you can surf the net via the phone's 3G access, without using a dongle or bluetooth or a cable.
