    hi,

I have just recieved a 6cell (5200mah) from an ebay seller

First thing i did was let it charge overnight. When I boot it up I ran BatteryInfo it reported a 21% wear level on the battery. Is this normal? Should I let it charge/discharge for a few cycles before deciding if I should RMA it?

after 3 charge/discharge cycles.. it went to 25%...

That's not even 4400mAH after 3 cycles. Send it back, is my advice.

I have never had much luck with batteries when it comes to ebay. Sound like the battery is old and not fresh.

Befor you do that, I would calibrate the battery first and see if that get the wear level to look better. To calibrate, first run the battery to empty (as close to 0% as possible) then charge the battery back up to full. If it is a calibration issue, then this should fix it.

    Cheers,
    -Allen

You can also get Batteries from Amazon... I have never had any problems with ones from there, and I have been using Laptops and replacement batteries since 2000.

I think that you should return the battery bro, it seems like it's damaged, because it's not normal at all. Go and buy one from an official store it's much better since you'll get warranty !
