160 gb hdd upgrade?

    basically i want to upgrade my 160gb hdd in my aao to a bigger hdd i have the 160gb hdd version with 1gb ram and xp pro s3 is it just as simple as taking my aao apart and putting the new hdd in or are there other things?

    and also what hdd should i get i think that a few people have the Western Digital Scorpio hdd are they any good?

    Yes, you have to take the whole thing apart, turn around the motherboard, unscrew 2 screws that are from the hdd caddy to the motherboard and then take off the caddy, insert your new hdd and put everything back together.
    Doesn't really matter what drive you get, if you want a little speedier drive than the original look for 7200RPM & 16MB Cache.

    It is the same as opening it to upgrade the RAM just instead of replacing the RAM, replace the hard drive.

    I can recommend the Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB. It's currently among, if not the fastest 2.5" SATA drive, as well as drawing less power than the Seagate 5400RPM (allegedly). Do a search for reviews, should turn you up some nice comparisons.
