1080 vs 4K

    I'm currently shopping for a laptop for all-purpose use. I'm finding I may he able to get a used 4K machine for about the same price as one with 1080. But since I've used neither I'm wondering if one would be superior to the other for general use like web-surfing, email, creating Word docs, YouTube viewing & occasionally watching a movie from say an attached DVD drive. I know text. etc is smaller on the 4K screen allowing more content to be displayed, but does any of it ever get "too small" for practical use.

    There's little content out there that's 4k at present to justify the outlay.
