10-inch Acer Aspire One D150 netbook gets unboxed

"Still only just up for pre-order in most countries, somehow a 10-inch Acer Aspire One D150 has found its way to netbooknews.de just in time for a quick unboxing. This particular model, the mid-range netbook in some countries line-ups, has the older N270 Atom processor but the larger, 6-cell battery. And, going by these unboxing photos, it certainly is a big battery.















First impressions are a little worrying, with the 10-inch Aspire One apparently feeling “cheap” compared to other netbooks. Then again, Acer’s netbooks generally have been cheap, which is one of the reasons they’ve sold so well. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting finding given that previous hands-on reports have suggested that the larger Aspire One is “sturdy”.

Since this particular Aspire One doesn’t have the 1.66GHz N280 processor with the accompanying GD40 chipset, we’ll have to wait and see whether the performance for that CPU proves as underwhelming as in the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. Before then, though, we’re promised video and more hands-on feedback on the D150."
