    Hi.
I got a laptop for free from a friend, nothing special, an Acer Travelmate 4230.
Here's the thing, I want to rebuild it.
I want to install a second screen, a "laptopscreen" if you want.
I gonna put it behind the original screen, with slides, so I can slide it to the right, and that way have 2 screens (extended desktop, NOT mirrored).
The building is not a problem, I got it figured out.

What I am struggling with, is how to wire it.
Laptop LCD screens uses LVDS-connection right? And my laptop only has one of those connections (obviously). I was thinking a LVDS-->VGA converter, but those I found requires external powersource, and that's not an option.

Is it possible to convert LVDS to VGA without an external powersouce?
    Any answers are welcomed.
I know this was a weird and confusing request.
    Also, sorry for my english.

    Thanks in advance, WourN
