Lenovo G400s Touch Processor Upgrade

    Im currently using this Laptop:

    Lenovo G400s Touch

    Intel Pentium 2020M( http://ark.intel.com/products/71142/Intel-Pentium-Processor-2020M-2M-Cache-2_40-GHz )

    988B rPGA Socket

    Intel HM76 SouthBridge

    Lenovo MotherBoard 31900004std

    Lenovo 7BCN36WW(V2.02) BIOS

    6GB PC3-12800 RAM



    Im Planning to Upgrade the Processor to Intel i3/i5/i7



    And Ive found this Processors who fits the socket

    When i buy one of the processors above, and removed the old processor from the motherboard and put my chosen processor.. will i experience problem? or it will be like Plug and Play?

    Before you start this process you might want to make sure that the processor is not soldered to the board on the current model that you have.

    You will require some thermal paste, an anti-static wrist strap and of course the processor.

    Before you start removing screws you will have to do these steps:
    - Upgrade your BIOS to the latest version firmware available.
    - Remove any cover plates.
    - Detach the keyboard.
    - Remove the Display Assembly
    - Remove the Shell
    - Remove the Graphics Card
    - Remove the Heat Sink and finally expose the CPU
    - Replace the CPU and apply thermal paste
    - Reassemble the PC

    Note that it is very important to be organized and track where parts go and with which screws.
