    Hi!

I'm still using ubuntu 8.04.02 and, after the last upgrade of the kernel to 2.6.24-23 I get a "Kernel panic: Not syncing" message after grub menu. Problem solves starting with 2.6.24-22 kernel.

Some idea of what is happening? There's a solution?

    Hi,

I did a bit of googling as I had the same error and look at this link

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/322867

if you edit the kernel line to include acpi=off and then boot, it does solve the issue but they are doing more diagnosis!

Of course when you get into Ubuntu you cant access the advanced power features but hopefully they will solve this with a patch

    Hope this helps

    Thanks.

I think I will stay with 2.4.24-22 Kernel and I'll wait for next to upgrade. I hope it will be fixed.
