I recently RMA'ed my AAO because of problems with WiFi connections hanging. My AAO is the XPHome Hard Drive model, and I had set it up to dual-boot using the Linpus disk image and the how-to that is stickied in the multi-boot forum. When my AAO was returned, Acer had replaced the Atheros wifi card with a Broadcom. The wireless works under Windows, (though the indicator lights don't work right), but under Linpus the network manager doesn't see any access points. The wifi switch does pop up the enabled/disabled pictures on screen, but doesn't seem to do anything else.

I'm no command line expert, but here's what I know to check. The relevant line from lspci is:
    Code:
Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev 01)
    and iwconfig returns:
    Code:
    eth1 IEEE 802.11b/g ESSID:"" Nickname:"Broadcom 4311"
           Mode:Managed Access Point: Invalid
           RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
           Encryption key:off
Link Quality=0/100 Signal level=0 dBm Noise level=0 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
           Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
    Anyone got suggestions?
