    A150 (1GB 120GB HD), Windows XP SP3

Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption 1.1
Works nice with highest settings at 1024x600, framerate drops to ~15fps with combats against many opponents.

    Messiah
Besides compatibility problems with XP and modern hardware works nice at 1024x600.
Deactivated prfetch cache, cd-audio and run with "+!" parameter.

    Beyond Good and Evil 1.10
XBox port with shaders reqs. works but unplayable.

    Psychonauts 1.04
XBox port, works at low framerate (10-15fps) with minimum settings, could be playable.

    XIII 1.3 (CodeGame patch)
Perfectly playable, has no settings to touch but res*

    Rainbow Six: Raven Shield
    Works perfectly with high settings*

*Unreal Engine 2 puts the Aspire One to the max, I'll check more games using this engine.

    A150 (1GB RAM 120GB HD), Windows XP SP3

Deus Ex 2: Invisible War 1.2 (European)
Game exits at loading screen. Unreal Engine 2 works nice with other games but I didn't find a solution for this one.

    Splinter Cell (1) 1.3
    Works perfectly with medium settings.

    Need for Speed: Porche
Works perfectly with highest settings at 1024x600

    Jade Empire SE
It doesn't start. Some ppl seems to be playing it with intel's 945 but I don't know what to do.

    Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Error with shaderapidx9.dll so I guess this game doesn't support One's graphics card.

    Game: System Shock 2 v2.03
    Ram: 1GB
Performance: Works very well at 800x600. Above 30fps (from feel of it, not using frames counter)
Some crashes but can't say what the cause of them are. Do not occur often enough to be a concern, IMO.

Sounds like an issue with the graphics settings. I had same issue with it on my desktop. try setting shadows to medium and all other settings to low. Might fix it. Up until the refinery how well did it run?

The default settings for the shadows is at the bottom already, It is some kind of glitch in the GUI I think, when I moved the shadows up I couldn't see any difference but the game wouldn't crash anymore.

In Order to run Trickster in Full screen Mode at 1024x600 in XP:
    1. Start > Run > "regedit"
    2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Ntreev > Trickster_GSP > Setup
    3. Look for heightPixel, and edit value (Base: in Decimal) to 600

I got Rome Total War - a hybrid of RTS and turned based strategy game from 2004 - to work on the Acer 120gb Xp version.

    Runs adequate on Tactical Map(15-20fps)
    Battle maps run 25-28fps
    Settings: Low-Medium 800X600+Widescreen mode enabled.

    Game: NBA LIVE 08
    Ram: 1GB
Performance: Runs perfect, High resolution on everything with reflections. Ofcourse, the graphic card isn't all that great so the level of detail makes you think you're playing a PS1 game.

    A150 (1GB RAM, 120GB HD)

    Kingpin
Low framerate due to poor OpenGL support. Kingpin doesn't work with Direct3D API

    X2: The Threat 1.4
    Poor framerate, unplayable

    Freelancer
    Works great with highest settings

Not sure why the previous submitter of the Sims 2 found it to be unplayable as it is running quite smoothly on my system. I do have 1.5 G of ram, but I wouldn't think that would make the difference between unplayable and smooth. Anyway:

Game: The Sims 2 (base game, no expansions, yet)
    RAM: 1.5, modded A110 with 4200rpm 80 Gig HDD, XP pro SP3
Performance: smooth, occassional lags when loading a walk-by but nothing out of the ordinary. Full 1024x600 resolution, details and textures high, everything else low or off. Cut scenes play smoothly.

So far I've only tried the base game and a single sim in a small house on a small lot. I'll try some bigger lots and maybe some of the expansions later.

I just wanted to let people know that this game can be quite playable. I was put off by reports in the first post, but I thought I'd try it anyway. I'm glad I did.

Follow up to the Sims 2....I have also loaded a medium house with 4 sims (The Pleasents) and play still runs smoothly. I've also cranked lighting and shadows up to medium and turned on reflections and all is still good. Tomorrow I hope to try some expansion packs.

    Re: Call of Duty

how do you get it to install across multiple CDs? or do you just copy the folders from your other computer? I always get an error at the end of the first disc and the thing is unable to find disc 2.

Another Sims2 update. I've installed all the expansions I have - University, Nightlife, Pets, Seasons, and Free time. Seasons slowed it down a bit, which was expected. It takes a lot to render rain and snow. I can still play with textures and details high, everything else medium, full 1024x600 resolution, and it's mostly smooth. I've loaded some of the bigger community lots from downtown and they take a while to load, but once loaded, they run fairly smooth.

I have also switched to empty templates and loaded a bunch of hacks and everything is still going. I haven't dumped too much custom content in yet, but that only effects load times anyway.

I have been very impressed by this little guy so far. The performance is not so far off my Macbook playing sims on Vista. It is the same graphics chip I guess, just a slower proc, but the One gets a lighter OS to game over.
