Re: AAO 751 Mac Os X Snow Leopard via NetbookInstaller USB

i tried netbook cd and other stuff: external dvd player because old Netbookbootmaker didn't worked. there was no succes till RC5 release. I found this battery issue, and other usb devices like mouse is killing this installation
    Than followed
    http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/nbi1.shtml

    everything worked

I don't know anyone who successfully made internal wifi card working with exchange or other hardware mod. You will find on early posts abut it.

Re: AAO 751 Mac Os X Snow Leopard via NetbookInstaller USB

no success, ive tried everything i can think of it makes no difference until netbookinstaller supports the 751h with it own support files i believe you will either have to install externally then put the drive back in as stated or be able to access a mac to modify the files in netbookbootmaker and use that to prep your usb drive

otherwise your just wasting time, even with transmac and other like programs you cant properly edit the mac file system from windows. it just doesnt work the best possbility for windows users with the AO751h looking for OSX is if somebody with a mac messes around with the kexts in netbookINSTALLER and gets it to see the hard drive then creates a image that us without access to a mac can put onto a usb drive and get OSX to install

Im just gonna wait till i get home with all my resources and then do it externally, last night i put windows 7 ultimate on here and have been messing with that, ill probably still mess with the OSX install but i dont have high Expectations

Re: AAO 751 Mac Os X Snow Leopard via NetbookInstaller USB

I just installed the new version of netbook installer on my already working ZG5 running 10.6.2
I can confirm that it works, but it did require one small fix. Like my previous experience with this software, I lost my audio-out device and the boot time was dramatically lengthened after I rebooted. However, using kext helper to reinstall an old HDA kext from this board fixed both problems. Glad I saved that thing! :D

What method and distro of osx did you use, how did you prep your USB stick(s) and what model of acer do you have?

Re: AAO 751 Mac Os X Snow Leopard via NetbookInstaller USB

I tried this new netbook installer and netbook maker and it's better to keep old rc5 maker and after SL install copy new installer with replaced AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext (250KB)

I found something interesting on Merklort blog about GMA500 Chamelon patch he used for Dell Mini 1012. I didn't use it. I don't know if it's better than AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext replace. Did You try this patch? Do You know how to install it? I asked Merklort about future for GMA500 and SL support and there is no much hope. He wrote: "The iphone uses the arm cpu, not x86. Not only that, but the extensions are bundled with the xnu kernel on the iphone, so it's not easy to extract them. Even if you did, it's a different architecture and wouldn't load (sure, you could decompose it and reverse it, but that would take quite some time or someone who really knows what they are doing)."

I don't know how to make it: decompose and reverse???
