Acer Aspire One runs slow when first booted

After booting, my laptop runs slow because some process is accessing the hard drive 100% of time as indicated by the Task Manager. I am running Win 8 with all the latest updates. I have disabled all the virus software and the file indexing function but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

A laptop may well run a little slow for the first two to three minutes.
The reason is it will have to load the start up programs you have downloaded.

Some programs will preload themselves using valuable resources even though
you may not require them all the time.

If you use ccleaners tools section you can disable them from loading at start up
until you click on them.

In ccleaner goto tools,then startup, then look through all the sections to see what you
want to stop loading at startup.


You can also use ccleaner in the registry, and cleaner sections to improve performance.

 

@something back I have used CCleaner for the past year and a half on my HP. I have just read a post saying that CCleaner is full of bloatware and I am starting to think that there might be some true to it since I can't even defrag my local drive when I see that there is 5% . I used the utility that comes with window, but it is just useless.

Can CCleaner over time of usage ruins your computer?

 

There are three versions of ccleaner , basic, slim, and portable.

Basic is the biggest 6.30mb , portable 6.26mb, and slim ( no tool bar ) 4.00 mb

ccleaner is a very reliable program, I use it without problems.
