Hi everybody, I need help with my acer aspire netbook d150/kav10.
Netbook was perfectly working before replacing display lcd cable because damaged.
I tested new cable connecting mb to display before reassembling netbook.
Pressing power key netbook booted perfectly while display showed os loading.
So I removed cable in order to fully reassemble netbook but once finished netbook won't boot anymore.
Power led is lit, fan spins but after very few seconds stops, power led still lit but netbook silent and nothing showing on display.
Tried even with external monitor but no image at all.
I thought I could have damaged video cable while connecting it and tried to boot netbook with no display connected but no way, it didn't boot, power led on, fan spins for few seconds then stops and nothing else.
    What could have been happened?
I tried everything, including crisis bios flashing or discharging netbook with power key pressed but with no luck.
    Maybe motherboard fried?
    How could it happen?
I'd like at least understand what happened and then maybe tryi to repair it if possible.
    Thank everybody for your help

The only suggestion is that either the earth or other connections has become loose inside the
lcd housing or the connection at the other end within the main housing is loose.

It's unlikely for either the bios setting or harddrive instructions to have altered.

It's a case of rechecking your steps.

Even trying to turn netbook on without lcd connected will result with fan stopping after about 3 seconds and nothing else just like if I connect an external mirror.
So I don't think it's a matter of lcd cable gone loose, but I think it's a mb related problem...

I was thinking that clearing cmos could be useful but I can't find clear cmos spot on mb.
Service manual indicated 2 triangles to short but I can't find such a thing on my mb.
Mb is la-4781p and looks a littlr bit different from the one on acer aspire one kav10 service manual...
Maybe I could try removing circle battery but it looks like I have to unsolder it to remove...

Are you still having problems?, if it's a small round battery then you should be able
to unclip it. Inside the black plastic battery holder you should see a silver tab that's holding the battery you only need to press this tab on the battery should pop out.

The motherboard jumper may be labelled CLEAR, CLR, CLEAR CMOS, PSSWRD or pin 1 and pin 2

    Hope this helps

Battery doesn't have a plastic clip just like desktop pc battery.
Retaining clip is soldered above round battery...
