    Hi all
this is my first post in here, I hope to find the answer in here for my question

I spent over a week looking for internal 3g modem for my AA1-150 but couldnt found anything or any useful information about it.
all i found is ( HUAWEI USB ) or any other USB dogle, which is external and i dont want to use the USB to connect to the internet as i can plug my Nokia E90 and connect to the internet through it.

so basically what I want is:
    1- Where I can find a 3G Internal modem for my AA1-150?
    2- How much it cost?
3- Brand name and model number of the part?

    Thanks in advanced

You did not find anything for a simple reason - internal 3G modem for AA1 does not exist :)

There is couple of modifications available to do but you can not just buy AA1 modem. There is couple of threads in this forum - very good mod by tnkgrl

or alternatively you can buy one of those in case of problems with SIM card holder:

In that case all you have to do is small soldering - miniPCIe header to motherboard - look tnkgrl mod.

    Have fun...

Because you bought your AAO WITH the 3G modem option. If you buy the AAO WITHOUT the 3G modem the required Mini-PCIe connector and SIM card holder isn't installed on the motherboard. Costsaving on behalf of Acer. In that case, if you want 3G on your AAO you need to do the mods which tnkgrl shows on her blog, to install a 3G Mine-PCIe modem card like the Qualcomm, or use a USB 3G Modem, like the HUAWEI modems.

Has anyone tried fitting a USB dongle internally? I have to replace the screen and was thinking of getting a touch screen. I know they have spare usb ports and I was thinking of buying a bluetooth and 3G dongle, stripping them of their casings and trying to find somewhere for them to sit inside the chasis.
