I assume my AspireOne does not have one. Can I add one? Would it be external or a whole new internal graphics card? What would be the cost?

The only way that you could upgrade the video on these is if it were AMD based and there was a "XGP" port to use that external video card, however that thing needs its own power, as well as its own monitor.

if you are looking for a netbook that is more gamer / 3D / HD friendly, then I recommend a newer one with the dual core atom and the nvidia ION chipset (Geforce 9300 Dedicated) they are under $400 on Newegg

if you are just looking for a HD solution, there is a Broadcom HD Crystal Mini-PCI-E add on card that runs for around $50, but most AAO's only have 1 PCI-E connection, and the WI-FI is taking that...

As is though, your options are extremely limited. Sorry to say...
